Applications are now open for the GREAT Scholarships 2025-2026 to Study in the United Kingdom. The GREAT Scholarships, launched by the British Council’s Study UK campaign in collaboration with a number of other UK universities, let students from 18 countries access world-class UK higher education options. Over 70 universities in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are offering more than 200 scholarships for the academic year 2025-26.
Each scholarship is financed jointly by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK higher education institutions. As part of the program, all GREAT scholars will be invited to a welcoming reception in the first semester and a networking event in the second semester.
Scholarship
Each scholarship will award £10,000, which will be taken from your tuition expenses and valid for one academic year.
Eligibility
To qualify for a scholarship, you must:
Be a citizen or resident of a qualifying country.
Have an undergraduate degree, be motivated, and interested in the chosen topic area.
meet the English language requirements of the UK HEI.
Engage with the UK as a scholar through personal and intellectual fulfillment.
Be willing to attend a networking event for all UK-based GREAT scholars to discuss their experiences and record perceptions of studying in the UK.
be willing to continue touch with the British Council and their HEI while serving as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships.
As a GREAT Scholarships graduate, you should be willing to chat with potential candidates about your personal experience studying in the UK.
